London, March 31 – For the first time in eight years, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr with her family in London, marking a special moment of reunion. She is spending the occasion with her eldest son Tarique Rahman, daughters-in-law, and three granddaughters.

This Eid holds special significance for Khaleda Zia, who has faced legal battles and health challenges in recent years. Despite being ill and deprived of advanced medical treatment, she was finally able to travel to London in January after the political transformation in Bangladesh. After seven years apart, she reunited with her son, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, making this Eid a momentous occasion for the family.

Meanwhile, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman offered Eid prayers in the Kingston area of London. He was joined by local BNP leaders and activists at one of West London’s largest open fields.

On Sunday, Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, conveyed her Eid greetings to the countrymen through the media. He confirmed that Khaleda Zia is spending a peaceful Eid at home with her family.

“Madam has extended Eid greetings to the countrymen and party leaders and activists. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has also sent his heartfelt Eid wishes,” said Dr. Zahid.

In his Eid message, Tarique Rahman reflected on the recent political changes in Bangladesh, stating that after a long decade and a half of struggle, the people are now celebrating Eid in a free and fearless atmosphere. He emphasized that this year's Eid joy is particularly significant, symbolizing a new chapter for the nation.
