Dhaka, Apr 26 (V7N)- BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has urged the interim government to promptly announce an election roadmap, stressing that the people want a quick resolution to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the national election.
"Not December to June, but announce the election roadmap quickly," Rizvi stated at a discussion titled "6 Million Accused in False Cases of Fascism, How Far is the Release," held at the National Press Club on Saturday morning (April 26).
Rizvi expressed concern over reports of severe corruption involving some government advisors, saying such allegations are tarnishing the image of the 2024 mass uprising.
"The fallen fascist Sheikh Hasina is still trying to create instability in the country through corruption and money laundering," he alleged.
He also called for the speedy trial of those who supported and prolonged fascism, both from within and outside the system.
Criticizing the apparent double standards in legal proceedings, Rizvi questioned why cases against BNP leaders and activists remain unresolved even as the case against the Chief Advisor has been withdrawn.
"Why are the cases of BNP leaders and activists not being withdrawn while the chief advisor’s case has been?" he asked.
The BNP leader reiterated the party's demand for justice and fairness in legal matters and urged for equal treatment under the law amid ongoing political reform efforts.
