Pabna, May 20 (V7N) - Pabna-based writer and journalist Muhammad Asadullah has been appointed as the joint convener of the central committee of the youth wing of the National Citizens Party (NCP), known as National Youth Power.

Muhammad Asadullah hails from Hatkhali Union in Sujanagar Upazila of Pabna. He is a recognized poet, novelist, short story writer, and journalist on the national stage. His impactful writings resonated with protestors during the July-August mass uprising. He actively participated in the movement in the Mirpur, Science Lab, Agargaon, and Shahbagh areas of Dhaka. Furthermore, he has been involved in anti-fascist writing and activism for an extended period.

Reflecting on his appointment, Muhammad Asadullah, a notable figure from Pabna, stated, "I was politically aware from a young age. Consequently, I used to observe the political actions of every party and national leader, analyzing their rights and wrongs. This is why I never considered joining national politics before."

Asadullah further explained, "August has shattered our psyche. I witnessed events firsthand that I never imagined possible. As I became involved in the movement, I began to feel a responsibility to ensure that no one could ever again dominate our country. When the NCP emerged to advocate for responsible and compromise-oriented politics after the mass uprising, I felt that thoughtful, educated youth needed to step forward now. Otherwise, I would be leaving Bangladesh vulnerable for the next generation. I entered politics to secure the future of that generation."

The writer and journalist added, "New beginnings have always been spearheaded by young people. Every time the world has shifted its course, the responsibility has fallen on the shoulders of the youth. I simply want to continue fulfilling that responsibility. At the same time, I would like to call on the people of Pabna to stand by me and offer their prayers."

Muhammad Asadullah has been actively writing stories, poems, and novels for the past 15 years, in addition to his contributions to national newspapers. He has seven published books to his credit.

The official debut of the National Youth Force, the youth wing of the National Citizens Party-NCP, took place on May 16th at Shaheed Abrar Fahad Avenue, Gulistan, in Dhaka. Muhammad Asadullah also served as the host and anchor of this event.
