BNP believes that the rigged election was an outright insult to Bangladeshis' excitement and ambitions for democracy.
In response to the opposition's demand to boycott the unfair voting, nearly all voters rejected the 12th parliamentary election on Sunday night, according to the BNP, ensuring the victory of the people who value democracy.
The party said in a statement signed by Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi that high voter turnout in elections that the public rejects is a characteristic shared by all autocrats.
"People demonstrated their solidarity by answering the opposition parties' request. Therefore, the democratic people's triumph was guaranteed because they decisively rejected the rigged election that was held today (Sunday), according to the BNP.
It further stated that the people's rejection of the election is a natural expression of their support for the pro-democracy forces' ongoing movement and a clear indication of the public's desire for Sheikh Hasina to step down.
The vast majority of the 12 crore voters in the nation abstained from this absurd election. The restoration of democracy is the primary goal of the brave action taken by the people of Bangladesh. The BNP expressed its congratulations to its fellow citizens for their courageous and united rejection of the mock election by the people who cherish democracy in Bangladesh.
The BNP believes that the rigged election was an outright insult to Bangladeshis' excitement and ambitions for democracy.
It further claimed that despite several manipulations, threats, and persuasions, the ruling party cadres were unable to mobilise electors to the vacant polling places, even outside of Dhaka.
The BNP argued that the Awami League's use of manipulations and irregularities in every seat and centre throughout the poll—which was abstained from by sixty-three democratic parties—proved once more that Sheikh Hasina is incapable of holding a free, fair, competitive, and peaceful election.
If the constitutional institutions are weak and autonomous, the state suffers greatly. The election commission in place today is evidence of that. The party claimed that "EC played a game in the name of election because they were subservient to Awami fascism."
