Bagerhat, Sept 12 (V7N) – BNP leaders have called for unity within the party ahead of Bangladesh’s upcoming national election, urging members to overcome misunderstandings and divisions to fulfill the expectations of the people.

Speaking at a large rally in Rampal on Friday, Bagerhat district BNP Joint Convener Lion Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam emphasized the need to implement the 31-point program announced by the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman. He said Tarique has urged the BNP to pursue politics that serves ordinary citizens and to work collectively with all communities, including both hill and plain people as well as religious and non-religious groups.

Dr. Islam also highlighted the importance of recognizing the contributions of the party’s senior and dedicated grassroots leaders. The event doubled as a reception, organized by Rampal-Mongla BNP leaders and activists to welcome him back from a recent trip to London.

Hundreds of leaders and supporters greeted him with a motorcade from Katakhali-Nowapara intersection to the rally venue, where he was honored with flowers. The reception took place at an open field near Rampal ferry ghat around 5:30 p.m.
