Dhaka, Sept 13 (V7N) — Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Alexander G. Khokholin, held a meeting with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the party chief’s office in Bashundhara, Dhaka, on Thursday.
 
According to a statement issued by Jamaat-e-Islami, the discussion covered the current political situation, Bangladesh-Russia bilateral relations, trade and investment opportunities, and matters of international interest. The Russian envoy expressed Moscow’s firm support for Bangladesh in the future and anticipated further growth in Russian investment in the country.
 
During the meeting, Ambassador Khokholin also extended an invitation to Dr. Rahman to attend an upcoming International Islamic Conference in Moscow.
 
The session was also attended by Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar and Dr. Rahman’s foreign affairs adviser, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.
