According to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan's statement on Sunday night, the country saw a free, fair, and joyous election on Sunday, January 7.
After winning his seat on Saturday night, the minister—who was also the AL's nominated candidate from the Dhaka-12 constituency—said as much in a video message.
In addition, he expressed gratitude to the electorate for choosing him a fourth time in a row.
He continued, saying that people had freely exercised their right to vote in a fair setting and for their preferred candidate.
"We want to achieve our smart Bangladesh goal under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and want to build a developed Bangladesh as she has dreamt of," he stated.
