Dhaka, Oct 01 (V7N) – Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia held a courtesy meeting with the Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yusuf S. Wail Ramadan, at her Gulshan residence, Firoza, on Tuesday evening.
During the meeting, Begum Khaleda Zia strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on Gaza and expressed grief and condolences over the extensive loss of lives. She also called for an immediate halt to the ongoing conflict.
Recalling the late President Ziaur Rahman with respect, Ambassador Ramadan noted that during his tenure, land was provided free of cost for the Palestinian Embassy in Bangladesh. He added that under Begum Khaleda Zia’s government, a building was constructed on that land with government support, reflecting the BNP administration and the Zia family’s solidarity and goodwill toward the Palestinian government.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammad Enamul Haq Chowdhury, member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council, and ABM Abdus Sattar, private secretary to the Chairperson.
The discussions highlighted the ongoing diplomatic goodwill between Bangladesh and Palestine, as well as the BNP’s commitment to supporting international humanitarian causes.
