Dhaka, Oct 24 (V7N) — Nasiruddin Patwari, Chief Coordinator of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has dismissed rumors about his resignation, affirming that he remains with the party and will continue until the formation of the government.

Speaking to reporters on Friday afternoon, Patwari said the rumors were baseless and spread by some media outlets in the name of investigative journalism. He urged journalists to focus on issues such as corruption and reforms in the military and police instead of circulating misleading reports.

Patwari also criticized certain business groups that control media outlets, calling for healthy journalism and responsible politics in Bangladesh.

Earlier, the news of Patwari’s alleged resignation had circulated in the media on Thursday night. The NCP subsequently released a statement labeling it as false.
