Dhaka, Nov 14 (V7N) – Following Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus’ pledge to ensure free, fair, and inclusive parliamentary elections, Nurul Haque Nur, President of the People's Rights Council, expressed hope that the February elections will now proceed without confusion. He made the remarks during the formal response of the Bijoynagar People's Rights Council in the capital on Friday morning.
Nurul Haque Nur said the People's Rights Council welcomes the initiative to hold the national election and referendum on the same day. He noted that political divisions and differing opinions among parties over the implementation of the July Charter had previously created uncertainty about the elections, but the chief adviser’s speech has largely dispelled those doubts.
He further urged political parties to support the government in ensuring a smooth election process. “Sheikh Hasina’s supporters are allegedly attempting to sabotage the election across the country, so all parties must remain vigilant,” Nurul Haque Nur added.
