Dhaka, Nov 29 (V7N) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who remains in critical condition under intensive treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
In a message posted on his verified Facebook page late Friday, Dr. Rahman said the news of Khaleda Zia’s worsening condition is “deeply distressing.” He stated that the party has been regularly monitoring updates on her overall health. He prayed for her swift recovery, asking for divine ease and protection from suffering. He also prayed for the wellbeing of all those facing illness and hardship.
Earlier, Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus also expressed grave concern over the BNP leader’s fragile condition. In an official statement, he said he has been closely following her medical progress and has instructed concerned authorities to ensure that every form of advanced medical assistance is provided without delay.
The Chief Adviser stressed that there should be no shortcomings in her treatment, adding that the government stands fully prepared to extend any necessary support. He also appealed to the nation to pray for the recovery of the three-time former prime minister, describing her as a significant source of inspiration during the country’s ongoing democratic transition.
Khaleda Zia, who suffers from multiple chronic health complications, has been under intensive medical observation since her condition deteriorated earlier in the week.
