Obaidul Quader, the General Secretary of the Awami League, asserted that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's approach of inclusive politics and development initiatives has marginalized the influence of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Speaking at an iftar and Eid gift distribution event, Quader highlighted that BNP's attempts to seek foreign intervention during the last general elections failed to hinder Bangladesh's democratic process.
Quader emphasized that despite global challenges, Bangladesh's populace is relatively stable under Prime Minister Hasina's astute leadership. He dismissed allegations made by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul regarding oppression of BNP members, urging for transparency in such claims.
Stating that BNP's political ideology lacks appeal to the public, Quader emphasized its diminishing relevance in Bangladeshi politics. Addressing BNP's alleged ties with Pakistan, Quader reaffirmed Awami League's commitment to Bangladesh's sovereignty.
In contrast to BNP's approach of hosting iftar parties in luxury hotels, Quader highlighted Awami League's grassroots initiatives of distributing iftar items and Eid gifts among the common people. He criticized BNP for spreading misinformation against the ruling party while underscoring Awami League's dedication to the welfare of Bangladesh's citizens.
The event also featured speeches from various Awami League officials, including AFM Bahauddin Nasim and Sujit Roy Nandi, among others.
