Dhaka, Feb 8 (V7N)- BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has appealed to the residents of his constituency Dhaka-17 to vote for the party symbol, paddy sheesh, while also listening to the demands of the local people. He assured that the BNP government would act to address these issues.

He made the remarks during an election road meeting at the ECB area on Sunday.

Tarique Rahman said that because the event was a road meeting, he would keep his speech short to avoid inconveniencing the public. “I am a child of this area. I was born and raised here, and so were my brother’s children. As someone from this area, I am asking everyone to vote for paddy sheesh,” he said.

Highlighting his vision for urban development, he said, “We want to transform Dhaka and all of Bangladesh into a safe city—where women can move freely at any time, and everyone can conduct business and work safely. Our goal is a city where people can breathe freely.”

Responding to local demands, Tarique Rahman promised that if BNP comes to power, at least 40 playgrounds will be built across Dhaka so children can play freely and families can spend time outdoors. He also addressed requests to widen the road from ECB Square to Jasimuddin, saying this will be carried out to improve traffic and movement in the area.
