Syedpur, Feb 11 (V7N) — Law enforcement agencies have detained Thakurgaon district Jamaat Ameer Belal Uddin with a large amount of cash at Syedpur Airport.

The Superintendent of Police of Nilphamari confirmed the matter. The seized money is currently being counted using a machine.

During preliminary interrogation, Belal Uddin said his home is in the Thakurgaon Sadar area and that he is a teacher by profession. He claimed that there was more than Tk 50 lakh in his luggage.

When asked about the source of the money, he stated that it was business-related and said he is involved in the garment business.

Law enforcement authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
