Law Minister Anisul Huq clarified on Sunday that there is no legal provision allowing BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to be sent abroad for medical treatment. Khaleda's jail sentence suspension under an executive order does not include provisions for foreign medical treatment, Huq explained.

This statement followed questions from journalists during an event at the Judicial Administration Training Institute in Dhaka. The minister noted ongoing plans to place a pacemaker for her cardiovascular issues. Khaleda was hospitalized at Evercare Hospital after falling ill, continuing her long battle with several health conditions.
