Dhaka, July 10 (V7N)- "In a fervent address, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary general of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), accused the Awami League government of steering the nation towards disaster through misrule.

Speaking at a doa and milad mahfil, he urged the populace of the nation to unify in order to step up the anti-government agitation and unseat the Awami League.

In 1975, the Awami League instituted a one-party system of Baksal governance. The BNP leader declared, "They have now destroyed democracy in a different way."

He said that the country's economy, the election system, and the administration and state institutions had all been politicised by the ruling party.

"Now, the nation is headed for catastrophe. Bangladesh would descend into abyss sooner as long as this Awami League administration is in charge, according to Fakhrul.
He forewarned that the economy, education system, and all other sectors would be entirely destroyed, and that the nation's independence and sovereignty would be in jeopardy.

Now, we must work to bring everyone together. The BNP leader stated, "To defeat them (AL) by speeding up the street movement through that unity."

In order to ask for heavenly blessings for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's quick recovery, the BNP's Dhaka south and north city sections organised the function at the Maulana Bhasani Auditorium in the city's Nayapaltan neighbourhood. Zia is now receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital.

According to Fakhrul, there must be a concerted effort to release Khaleda from custody without any requirements in order to secure her continued medical care overseas.
We have to now make an effort to unite everyone. "To defeat them (AL) by speeding up the street movement through that unity," declared the BNP leader.

The event was held at the Maulana Bhasani Auditorium in the city's Nayapaltan area with the intention of asking for divine blessings for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's speedy recovery. It was arranged by the BNP's Dhaka south and north city sections. Zia is presently undergoing treated at Evercare Hospital.

Fakhrul asserts that in order to ensure Khaleda's continuous medical care abroad, a determined effort must be made to release her from detention with no conditions.

"There is no reason to see the release of our leader (Khaleda) and democracy separately. The democracy will be restored and the country will be protected if our leader is freed,” he said.
He said it is necessary to oust the Awami League to resolve the country’s all problems and restore democracy. “Let’s work in unison to achieve that goal. If we all work together, no one can defeat us."

The BNP Secretary General congratulated the leaders of the newly formed committees of their party’s BNP North, South and Jubo Dal.

"We hope that the organisations of the Dhaka south and north city units will be strengthened further under the leadership of their newly formed committees to play a role in defeating this government."
