Dhaka, Aug 28 (V7N): BNP's Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, has expressed concern over the condition of Hasnat Abdullah, a key figure in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, who was critically injured in an attack by Ansar personnel in front of the Secretariat and is currently receiving treatment at CMH.
On Wednesday afternoon, BNP's Health Secretary, Dr. Rafiqul Islam, visited CMH on behalf of Tarique Rahman to check on Hasnat Abdullah's condition.
According to BNP sources, Hasnat Abdullah suffered severe injuries during the attack and was discovered unconscious outside the Secretariat. BNP activists quickly admitted him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he was placed in the ICU due to the severity of his injuries.
Upon learning of his condition, BNP's Senior Joint Secretary, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, promptly arrived at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Dr. Rafiqul Islam, along with other doctors from DAB, provided urgent medical care.
The incident occurred on Sunday during a clash between members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Ansar personnel near the Secretariat. Following the attack, Hasnat Abdullah was initially treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital before being transferred to CMH for further care.
