Dhaka, Sept 01 (V7N): BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged his party leaders and activists to win the hearts of the people through justice and generosity rather than force or intimidation.

In a video message commemorating the BNP's 46th founding anniversary, Tarique Rahman emphasized the importance of earning people's love through positive actions. He instructed his party members to avoid seeking revenge or taking the law into their own hands. Instead, he encouraged them to pursue legal actions if they have been victims of past injustices.

Tarique Rahman praised the BNP's commitment to democracy and human rights, highlighting its resilience through various challenges and its role as a trusted political institution. He expressed respect for the contributions of those who have helped establish BNP as a significant party in Bangladesh.

Addressing the current political climate, Tarique Rahman stressed the need to move forward from past dictatorships and focus on building a fair and humane Bangladesh. He acknowledged the transitional period the country is undergoing and the challenges faced by the interim government in achieving a discrimination-free society.

He also spoke about the enduring impact of past injustices and the need to remember the victims of various incidents, including the 2009 Pilkhana killings and the 2018 student movements. Tarique Rahman proposed creating a museum at Ganabhaban to memorialize these events and serve as a reminder to future generations.

Regarding the recent floods affecting the eastern region of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman called on party leaders and activists to support the flood victims and participate actively in the rehabilitation efforts.
