Khagrachari, Mar 26 (V7N) - In a tragic incident, a fire broke out late on March 26 in the Boalkhali Nicher Bazaar area of Dighinala, Khagrachari, destroying at least 20 businesses. The fire started around 1:30 a.m. from a food hotel and quickly spread to nearby shops. Firefighters from four units worked for three hours and managed to bring the fire under control by 4:30 a.m. The local community, along with the police and military, assisted in containing the blaze.
According to Mohammad Zakir Hossain, Deputy Assistant Director of Khagrachari Fire Service, around 18-20 business establishments were affected by the fire. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, and efforts are underway to assess the damage.
This fire follows a similar incident on March 8, when 12 shops were burned down in the same area of Boalkhali's Larma Square market.
