Dhaka, Nov 25 (V7N)- The government has called on students to maintain peace and avoid involvement in conflicts, warning that any attempts to incite unrest in educational institutions or other parts of the country will be met with strict action.

Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, made the statement following recent clashes between students of various colleges in the capital. According to news agency BSS, Alam emphasized the government’s vigilance in monitoring these incidents.

"The government is closely observing the recent conflicts in several educational institutions," said Alam. "We urge students to remain calm and refrain from any form of confrontation."

The government is investigating the root causes of these disturbances to determine whether external elements are fueling the unrest. Alam added, "Any attempt to create instability, whether in educational institutions or other areas of the country, will be suppressed with an iron hand."

On Monday, violent clashes erupted between students of Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul College, and Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Molla College in the Jatrabari area of Dhaka. The situation disrupted the surrounding area and caused public concern.

Additionally, a similar conflict occurred the previous night between students of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) and Dhaka Polytechnic Institute.

The government’s appeal highlights the importance of maintaining harmony within educational institutions and ensuring that learning environments remain free from conflict. It has reiterated its commitment to upholding order and addressing any elements that seek to destabilize peace.

The situation is being closely monitored as authorities work to restore calm and address the underlying causes of these incidents.
