Dhaka, Jan 16 (V7N) — Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the interim government, is set to convene an all-party meeting to finalize the July Mass Uprising Declaration. The meeting will take place on Thursday at 4 pm at the Chief Advisor's official residence, 'Jamuna,' on Hare Road in the capital.

Representatives from political parties such as BNP, Jamaat, Ganatra Mancha, and members of various professions and social groups are expected to participate. The session is scheduled to run until 7 pm, as confirmed by the Chief Advisor's press wing.

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee initiated the call for the July Declaration following the fall of the Awami League government in the student-led public movement. The declaration is expected to outline the principles and future direction for governance and societal reform post-uprising.

Originally, the declaration was proposed on December 29, with plans to publish it by December 31. However, the government announced a revised timeline, citing the need for comprehensive discussions with stakeholders.

Advisor Mahfuz earlier stated that the government is committed to incorporating diverse perspectives into the declaration to ensure its inclusivity and alignment with public aspirations. The outcomes of Thursday’s meeting will likely shape the final draft of the historic document.
