Dhaka, Jan 18 (V7N) — The Chief Advisor's press wing has categorically denied allegations circulating on social media that the Director General (DG) of the Special Security Force (SSF) provided shelter to Ali Hossain Shishir, a garment factory owner accused of a crime, in his apartment. The press wing has labelled the claims as completely false and baseless.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Deputy Press Secretary cited an SSF spokesperson who clarified that Ali Hossain had rented the DG's apartment after presenting himself as the owner of a garment factory in Narayanganj. A valid rental agreement was signed on official stamp paper.

The SSF spokesperson further stated, “There is no question of the DG sheltering a criminal. When law enforcement arrived at 3:45 am on January 18 to arrest Ali Hossain, the DG immediately instructed the police to proceed as per the law and take the accused into custody.”

The statement also condemned the social media posts as "completely false and distorted," accusing them of being a deliberate attempt to malign the reputation of the DG, the SSF, and the Bangladesh Army without any factual basis or investigation. It called such actions "irresponsible and damaging."

Authorities have urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could harm the credibility of national institutions.
