Dhaka, Mar 02 (V7N) – Today marks the historic Flag Hoisting Day, commemorating the first-ever raising of the national flag of Bangladesh on March 2, 1971 at Battala in front of the Art Building of Dhaka University. This momentous event symbolized the beginning of the struggle for independence, igniting the dream of a free Bangladesh.

To honor the occasion, a Flag Hoisting Day Celebration Program 2025 was organized at Dhaka University.

Speaking as the chief guest, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan remarked:

“No one's political identity is important in historical matters; those who create history are above all.”

He further emphasized that efforts are still being made to destabilize the country and the nation, urging everyone to stay united in the face of such challenges.

The program was attended by students, faculty members, freedom fighters, and distinguished guests who paid tribute to the flag that became a symbol of resistance and national identity during the Liberation War of 1971.
