Dhaka, Mar 10 (V7N) –At a sector commander-level meeting on Monday, the Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) protested the killing of a Bangladeshi citizen by the Indian Border Security Forces (BSF).

The meeting took place at the Bangla Bandha zero point in Tetulia upazila, where BGB Thakurgaon Sector Commander Colonel Golam Rabbani led the BGB team, while the BSF team was headed by Shiliguri Sector Commander Sri PK Sing.

He said the BGB has protested the killing at the national level and that measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

“We have clearly informed them that such killings are brutal, inhuman, and a violation of international laws,” Rabbani said.

He also requested the BSF to refrain from using firearms at the zero line of the border.

The victim, 38-year-old Al Amin, son of Suruj Ali from Jinnatpara in Panchagarh Sadar upazila, was killed by BSF gunfire on Saturday, approximately 160 yards inside Indian territory.
