Khagrachari, July 6 (V7N) – In honor of the Hill Fruit Festival 2025, Khagrachari Hill District Council Chairperson Jiruna Tripura has presented a selection of indigenous fruits to the Chief Advisor of the interim government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
The presentation took place on Saturday, July 5, during a courtesy visit to the Chief Advisor's residence in Dhaka's Minto Road. Following the meeting, Jiruna Tripura offered a variety of seasonal fruits cultivated in the hilly regions of southeastern Bangladesh, known for their natural richness and unique flavors.
Jiruna Tripura expressed her appreciation for Professor Yunus’s willingness to accept the symbolic gift, stating that the people of Khagrachari are grateful for the gesture. She emphasized that the vibrant fruit varieties from the hill tracts reflect the ecological diversity and cultural identity of the region.
Speaking at the event, the council chairperson noted that under the leadership of Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, there is strong hope for progress in Khagrachari’s tourism infrastructure, as well as in the education and healthcare sectors.
Khagrachari Hill District Council Member Shahidul Suman and other officials were also present during the visit.
The Hill Fruit Festival, an annual celebration of the region’s agricultural bounty, aims to promote sustainable tourism and local economic development while showcasing the unique horticultural heritage of the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
