Dhaka, July 31 (V7N) – The National Consensus Commission is holding its final round of discussions today with political parties, aiming to reach agreement on several critical constitutional issues, including the appointment processes for major state institutions and the expansion of citizen rights.

The 23rd and final day of the second phase of the commission's dialogue began at around 11:30 AM on Thursday at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital.

Today's agenda includes:

  • Appointment procedures for the Public Service Commission (PSC), Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Auditor General, and the Ombudsman

  • Formation of the Upper House of Parliament

  • Election and powers of the President

  • Expansion of fundamental rights of citizens

According to sources within the commission, there is strong optimism that the remaining unresolved proposals can be finalized today. All political parties that have been part of the previous sessions are expected to be in attendance.

With most of the 826 proposals already addressed and consensus reached on the majority, today’s meeting is expected to bring the reform dialogue to a historic close.
