Dhaka, Oct 17 (V7N) — The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has collected a record Tk 90,825 crore in the first quarter (July–September) of the fiscal year 2025-26, marking a 20.21% growth over the same period last year. This represents an increase of Tk 15,270 crore compared to the first quarter of FY 2024-25.
Speaking on Friday, NBR Public Relations Officer Md. Al Amin Sheikh said that the record revenue was achieved across all major sectors, including income tax, VAT, and import-export.
He highlighted that this success is the result of intensive efforts to expand tax coverage, ensure compliance, prevent evasion, and recover evaded revenue.

Revenue in FY 2024-25 (July–September): Tk 75,554.78 crore

In the current fiscal year, local-level MUSK sector contributed the highest revenue of Tk 34,819 crore, up 30% from the same period last year. Revenue from income tax and travel tax amounted to Tk 28,478 crore, compared to Tk 24,800 crore in the first quarter of FY 2024-25. Meanwhile, the import-export sector contributed Tk 27,528 crore, significantly higher than in the previous three fiscal years.
The NBR emphasized that new records were set in all key sectors during the July–September quarter, demonstrating the effectiveness of ongoing measures to strengthen revenue collection.
