June 29 (V7N) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman officially launched a nationwide tree-planting initiative for secondary schools by planting a sapling at the Bangladesh-China Friendship International Conference Center. Operating under the central theme “One Child, One Tree,” the Prime Minister used a virtual connection to simultaneously kick off the eco-friendly campaign across more than 29,000 secondary educational institutions throughout the country.

Alongside the environmental launch, the Prime Minister attended a national exhibition titled “Startup, Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing” at the same venue. The specialized event was organized by the Ministry of Education to highlight youthful ingenuity. During the program, the Prime Minister walked through the exhibition layout to view various science displays and innovative concepts brought forward by students representing different regions.

As the Prime Minister inspected the designated stalls, the young participants detailed the core functionalities and real-world advantages of their respective inventions. Highly impressed by their resourcefulness, the Prime Minister praised the students' creative achievements. He warmly encouraged the younger generation to stay dedicated to scientific exploration and original thinking.

The high-profile national event was attended by several prominent state figures, including the Prime Minister’s wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman. They were joined by Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, who helped oversee the joint launching ceremony.

Also present at the venue were the Prime Minister's Defence Adviser, Brigadier General (retd.) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam, and Education Adviser Mahdi Amin. Their attendance emphasized the administration's integrated focus on both environmental conservation and youth-led technological development.

Rounding out the list of top-level attendees were Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar and Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly. Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman was also among the senior officials present to witness the synchronized launch of the nationwide green campaign.
