In an exciting election battle, Nilufar Anjum Popi, the candidate chosen by the Awami League, achieved a successful win in the Gauripur, Mymensingh-3 constituency elections. In the election race at Balukapur High School Center, Popi received 54,491 votes, which was more than her nearest opponent, independent candidate Somnath Saha, who got 52,566 votes.

The voting began at 8 in the morning on Saturday, January 13, and continued until 4 in the afternoon. The announcement of unofficial results later in the night confirmed that Joy Nilufar Anjum Popi emerged as the victorious candidate.

It is important to mention that there was a problem during the election process in Gauripur because someone interfered with the ballot box in the Shabanhathi Union during the national parliamentary elections. Afterwards, the local government decided to delay the voting process until January 13th. The Election Commission's choice to change the date allowed for a just and conclusive electoral result, which eventually led to Joy Nilufar Anjum Popi's win.
