"The election has finally left the nation been content:" CEC

Kazi Habibul Awal, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), stated on Thursday that no election is impervious to controversy, not even the 12th parliamentary national election.

"An election has never been without controversy. The election, which we are happy with, hasn't moved past controversy," he declared.

At a Thursday ceremony held in the Nirbachan Bhaban auditorium, the CEC expressed gratitude for the effective and equitable conduct of the 12th parliamentary election.

As a result of a major party's boycott and attempts to stop the election from happening, he claimed that the most recent election had virtually little participation.

CEC said, "The election has finally left the nation been content."

Referring to the need to take action against slander and bad names, he stated that without government support, such a large-scale undertaking could not succeed.

According to him, "the election helped the country overcome the crisis."

If the politicians lack confidence, the Election Commission would not be accepted, he said.

Anisur Rahman, another commissioner, stated that they were adamant that they would decide if they were unable to have a free, fair, and orderly election.

Regarding voter turnout, he stated that if the final information about turnout was provided in three parts at 3:30 pm, there wouldn't be any misunderstandings.

"We can prove it if we are challenged. This is the first election that an inquiry committee representing each constituency has been involved in the process. He added, "The executive magistrates performed admirably as well.

Commissioner Md. Alamgir highlighted the election process, stating that it had been completed in terms of voter lists, party registration, constituency demarcation, election officer recruitment, dialogue, and observer registration.

Under the direction of EC Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam, additional election commissioners addressed during the event.
