June-6, (V7N Dhaka)- In every upazila of the country, the establishment of a modern digital classroom and language lab at each school has been undertaken. Additionally, it has been announced by Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmud that in 650 privileged areas of the country, three more digital classrooms will be set up in primary schools. This information was disclosed by the finance minister during the presentation of the budget at the National Parliament on Thursday (June 6). He proposed this during the budget presentation session chaired by Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at 3:00 PM, in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
 
The Finance Minister informed the National Parliament that almost over one lakh laptops, multimedia projectors, internet-connected sound systems have been provided to government primary schools to operate multimedia classrooms. Furthermore, the program for establishing one modern digital classroom and language lab in each upazila has been initiated.
 
In tackling the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the subjects related to information technology and coding have been included in the third grade of primary science textbooks since 2022 to give children an understanding of programming. The Finance Minister stated that alongside formal education, the government is conducting mass education programs and has achieved significant success. In observance of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 2022-23 fiscal year, 35,763,763 people were provided with basic literacy through 60,114 learning centers in 114 upazilas across 60 districts. Additionally, programs are ongoing to provide education to dropouts through informal education methods and ensure their reintegration into mainstream education in the future.
 
He said, "Children are the architects of the future of the country. Our ultimate goal is to build a smart Bangladesh. Therefore, steps must be taken from now on to instill this idea in the hearts of every child from childhood." In line with this vision, initiatives have been taken to modernize the national primary education framework and evaluation methods. Moreover, there is an emphasis on technology-dependent education in the early stages of children's education, placing more importance on technology-based education delivery.
