Dhaka, August 8— All Indian Visa Application Centers (IVACs) in Bangladesh have been closed until further notice due to the ongoing volatile situation in the country. This information was announced on the IVAC website on Wednesday.

Effective immediately, all IVACs across Bangladesh will remain closed. The next application date will be communicated to applicants through SMS. Passports can be collected on the next working day.

This decision follows an advisory issued by the Indian Embassy on Sunday, August 4, which urged Indian citizens and students residing in Bangladesh to limit their movement and avoid travel within the country in response to the escalating anti-discrimination student movement.

The anti-discrimination protests have led to widespread unrest and uncertainty, prompting precautionary measures to ensure the safety and security of applicants and staff at the visa centers.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops, and applicants are advised to stay informed through official channels.
