On Tuesday, ten new standing committees in parliament were established, all of which are led by members of the ruling Awami League.

This has resulted in the formation of 38 of the 50 parliamentary committees to far.

During the previous term, AHM Mustafa Kamal served as the Awami League government's finance minister. The parliamentary standing committee on finance ministry appointed him as its head.

The Jatiya Sangsad committee on Ministry of Planning was chaired by the immediate former minister of planning, MA Mannan.

Zahid Maleque, a former minister of health, is now the chair of the JS body on the Science and Technology Ministry.

The head of the JS body at the Ministry of Social Welfare is now AFM Ruhul Haque.

ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury is now the head of the Railway Ministry's JS body. In the previous parliament, he served as this committee's chairman as well.

The Ministry of Water Resources' chief of the JS body, Ramesh Chandra Sen, was reappointed.

The head of the JS body on the Ministry of Roads is now Rejwan Ahammad Taufiq. He was appointed head of a legislative body for the first time.

In addition, Ziaur Rahman is now in charge of all JS bodies. He was appointed the JS body's chairman on the Ministry of Power.

Mahfuzur Rahman was appointed head of the Ministry of Shipping's JS body. He also held the first-ever position of chief of any JS body.

Elias Uddin Mollah was appointed head of the Defense Ministry's JS body. He also held the first-ever position of chief of any JS body.

The Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave their consent before Chief Whip of Parliament Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury Liton appointed the chiefs and members of the parliamentary standing committees.

The legislative standing committees were later unanimously created by the Jatiya Sangsad.
