Lakshmipur, August 31- Farooq-e Azam, the Disaster Management and Relief Adviser, announced plans to start rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected areas once the immediate disaster situation is under control. Speaking to journalists at the temporary relief monitoring office under the supervision of the Bangladesh Army at the Lakshmipur city police outpost on Friday evening, he shared updates on the current situation and future plans.

Azam stated, "The floodwaters have begun to recede, and I hope people can return to their homes soon. We will overcome this disaster, and then the rehabilitation program will start in the flood-affected areas." He emphasized the importance of a well-executed rehabilitation effort and mentioned that he has instructed the concerned authorities to ensure that the process is carried out effectively.

After visiting the affected areas to assess the flood situation, the Adviser expressed satisfaction with the ongoing relief operations. "I spoke with those involved in the relief efforts and am pleased to see that the operations are being conducted in an orderly manner," Azam added.

The government's focus will now shift from immediate relief efforts to long-term rehabilitation, ensuring that the affected communities can recover and rebuild in the aftermath of the devastating floods.
