Dhaka, September 04 — Abdullahil Kafi, the Dhaka District Additional Superintendent of Police, recently promoted to Supernumerary Superintendent of Police, has been granted an eight-day remand in connection with a kidnapping case filed at Hazaribagh Police Station.

Kafi was brought before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate, Aktaruzzaman, at 6:45 AM on Wednesday. The police requested a ten-day remand to ensure a thorough investigation of the case. After hearing the arguments, Magistrate Aktaruzzaman approved an eight-day remand.

Kafi was arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) Police from Dhaka's airport on Monday, September 2. On the same day, he was charged in two separate cases filed at Ashulia and Hazaribagh police stations. These charges include involvement in the abduction and subsequent killing of students in Ashulia on August 5, with the bodies allegedly burned to conceal the crime.

The investigation into Kafi's alleged involvement in these serious crimes is ongoing, with authorities committed to uncovering the full extent of the incidents.
