Dhaka, Sep 9 (V7N): Hasnat Abdullah, a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has emphasized that there is no conflict between students and the police. Speaking at a rally in Chittagong’s Laldighi Maidan on Sunday, Hasnat called on the police to resume their duties and ensure public safety, pledging student cooperation in rebuilding the state.

The event, organized by the movement, focused on corruption, extortion, and terrorism, with participation from students and families of martyrs.

"Students and police are like brothers. We urge you to return to your duties. We know who among you stood for justice," Hasnat said, adding that not all officers are the same as former police chiefs Benazir Ahmed and Harunor Rashid, warning they could face similar fates if they pursued power over justice.

Addressing government officials, Hasnat stressed their responsibility to support the interim administration, rejecting any reluctance to work in public offices.

Hasnat also clarified the movement’s stance on the interim government, advocating for its continuation until public trust in essential state institutions is restored. He called on students to remain united and committed to the reconstruction of the state, ensuring that the sacrifices of martyrs are honored.
