Son of liberation warrior Dr. Abul Kashem, Shah Jalal Uddin, a customs officer, was killed together with his wife Meherun Necha Helali Meena, 24, and their three-year-old daughter Fahiruz Kashem Jamira from East Gwalia Palang village in Haldia Palang Union of Ukhia.

Imrul Kayes Chowdhury, the chairman of the Haldiapalong Union Parishad, stated that losing every member of the same family at once is the worst suffering. We had discussed bringing the body with the family. He said that the catastrophe had left the neighborhood in a state of sadness.
