Dhaka, Feb 20 (V7N) – Two individuals were killed in a clash between armed suspects and joint forces during a security operation in the Mohammadpur area of Dhaka. The incident occurred late on Wednesday night in the 40-feet area of Basila, Mohammadpur.

According to Abdur Rob, a wireless operator at Mohammadpur Police Station, police forces were immediately dispatched to the site after reports of the casualties. Early investigations suggest that the joint forces, who were on a regular patrol, came under fire from a group of armed individuals. In response, the joint forces returned fire, leading to the deaths of two suspects.

The identities of the deceased individuals have not been confirmed by authorities yet. However, local sources indicated that the suspects may have been part of a criminal group.

In addition to the two deaths, police apprehended five individuals at the scene, and several firearms were recovered. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.

While this is a routine operation, the fatal clash has raised concerns over the growing criminal activities in the area. The police are expected to release more information as the investigation progresses.

The joint forces, comprising army, police, and other law enforcement agencies, regularly conduct operations in various parts of the capital to combat armed violence and ensure public safety.
