Dhaka, Nov 01 (V7N)- Dhaka residents experienced sudden rainfall on Saturday afternoon as the sky turned dark and gusty winds accompanied heavy showers. The downpour brought a sharp drop in temperature, catching office-goers and pedestrians off guard, with many getting drenched.

Earlier, the Meteorological Department had forecast light rain and partly cloudy skies. However, by noon, the weather changed rapidly, and heavy showers began. Rain has also been reported in Tangail, Chapainawabganj, Satkhira, and Sirajganj.

The Meteorological Office has warned of temporary squally winds of 45-60 kmph with rain or thundershowers over Jessore, Kushtia, Pabna, Faridpur, Madaripur, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Comilla, and Sylhet. River ports in these regions have been instructed to display warning signal number 1.

A distinct low-pressure area over North Chhattisgarh and adjacent parts of India may move north-northeast, causing heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions in the coming days.
