Dhaka, Nov 20 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Outsourcing Oikya Parishad has organized a rally at the Central Shaheed Minar, pressing a seven-point charter of demands that includes amending the Outsourcing Policy-2025 and ensuring job security for outsourced officials, including opportunities for direct recruitment in organizations beyond contractor-based hiring.
Protesters began gathering on Thursday morning as processions from various parts of the capital converged at the Shaheed Minar.
Speakers at the rally said that reliance on contractor-based recruitment has led to numerous complications, including delayed or unpaid salaries, sudden layoffs, and the absence of a promotion system. They accused the government of failing to implement its previous commitments despite years of demonstrations and negotiations by outsourcing workers.
The organizers declared that they would not return home based on assurances alone. They warned that if their demands were not fulfilled, all outsourced employees, officials, and workers in government institutions across the country would launch nationwide protests.
