Dhaka, Apr 23 (V7N) — Police detained at least 140 people during a late-night raid at a bar in Uttara.

The operation was conducted at Combe Restaurant and Bar in Sector 12 of Uttara on Thursday midnight.

Raid details

Police said:

  • The bar had allegedly been operating illegally for a long time

  • Authorities checked licenses of individuals consuming alcohol

  • Those with valid licenses were allowed to leave immediately

  • Others without proper documents were detained and taken to a nearby police station

Law enforcement position

Officials stated that a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and illegal activities will be strictly enforced going forward.

Police indicated that similar operations may continue as part of efforts to ensure compliance with laws and maintain order in the capital.
