Dhaka, August 7 — A daring robbery took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the Navodaya Bazar area of Mohammadpur. At around 2:30 a.m., a group of robbers targeted a residential building, leaving the residents shaken.

According to the building's security guard, the robbers gained entry by posing as local residents. Once the gate was opened, the intruders quickly took the guard hostage and proceeded to force entry into one of the flats. Inside, they held the occupants at gunpoint and demanded cash and valuables.

The tense situation escalated when the residents, hearing that the army had arrived on the scene, began screaming for help. The robbers, realizing they had little time, took up a position on a nearby side street. As the army personnel moved in, the robbers made a swift escape on motorcycles.

The army's prompt response led to increased patrolling in the area, aiming to reassure the residents and prevent further incidents. Several university students also stepped forward to assist the army personnel in their efforts.

This incident has heightened concerns about security in the area, especially given the brazenness of the robbers and their ability to evade capture. The authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. The army and police forces continue to work together to ensure the safety of the community.
