An AQI value in this range is considered "moderate," which means the air is generally acceptable, but sensitive individuals may need to limit prolonged outdoor exertion.
 
In comparison, other cities with significantly worse air quality included Lahore, Pakistan (AQI 560), Delhi, India (AQI 358), and Hanoi, Vietnam (AQI 206). These cities are among the worst globally, with air quality readings that pose severe health risks.
 
The AQI for Dhaka is based on pollutants such as particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), NO2, CO, SO2, and ozone, which are common contributors to the city's air pollution. Dhaka's air quality tends to worsen in the winter months and improves during the monsoon season. 
 
The World Health Organization (WHO) highlights the global health impact of air pollution, which is responsible for around seven million deaths annually. It is linked to a range of serious health conditions, including heart disease, stroke, lung cancer, and respiratory infections. The worsening air quality in cities like Dhaka further exacerbates these public health challenges.
