MONGLA, MAY 21 (V7N) – Deep convective clouds have formed over the Bay of Bengal, leading to the potential development of a low-pressure system at sea. Consequently, the Meteorological Office has instructed Mongla seaport to hoist local warning signal number three.

Since Friday morning, the sky across the sea and the Sundarbans coast, including Mongla, has been cloudy. However, the Meteorological Office indicates that significant rainfall is not expected immediately.

Md. Harun Ur Rashid, In-charge of the Mongla Meteorological Office, stated, "There is a possibility of low pressure in the sea from the circulating clouds. Then there will be rainfall."

Md. Makruzzaman, Deputy Director (Board and Public Relations Department) of Mongla Port Authority, confirmed that despite the issuance of signal number three, goods movement and transportation activities at the port are proceeding normally due to favorable weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the Mongla coast has been experiencing a severe heat wave for several weeks, making public life unbearable, with no immediate signs of rain.
