Dhaka, May 24 (V7N) – A sensational theft occurred in the capital's Rampura area on the morning of May 24, 2025, sparking alarm among local residents.

The incident took place around 9:30 am at the residence of Md. Ashikur Jaman, a staff member of Voice7 News. According to the victim, an unidentified intruder gained access to the house through the main door and made off with valuable items.

The stolen belongings include two mobile phones — a Vivo Iqoo Neo 10 and a Redmi Note 8 — with a combined market value of Tk 60,000, a Lenovo laptop worth approximately Tk 1,00,000, a wallet containing cash and bank cards, and an additional Tk 50,000 in cash from a drawer.

Md. Ashikur Jaman has filed a General Diary (GD) with Hatirjheel Police Station, registered under GD No. 1535.

Rampura Police Station ASI (Unarmed) Md. Mominul Islam confirmed the incident and stated, “We have received the report and will take action very soon.”

The daylight burglary has raised concerns among residents, with many urging law enforcement agencies to intensify patrols and improve neighborhood security.
