Tangail, Apr 14 (V7N)– Tangail ushered in the Bengali New Year 1432 with traditional fervor, highlighted by a special horse rally and a vibrant procession organized by the district administration.

"A traditional Bengali horse rally was held in Tangail to mark the 1432 Bengali New Year," a Tangail Correspondent reported.

The horse rally, a unique event to celebrate the New Year, was organized by the Tangail Municipality's Youth and Star World and took place on Monday, April 14th.

Key local officials graced the event, including Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque, Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman, Municipal Administrator Shihab Raihan, and Tangail Press Club President Zafar Ahmed.

Separately, the district administration organized a colorful procession in the morning to mark Pohela Boishakh (the first day of the Bengali New Year). The rally commenced from the district administration offices, traversed important roads throughout the city, and culminated at the public service square in front of the district police superintendent's office. Upon the rally's conclusion, Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque officially inaugurated a folk fair, adding to the festive atmosphere of the Bengali New Year celebrations.

Several local dignitaries and organizers were also present during the celebrations, including Nurul Islam, Rubel, Mohabbat Hossain, Mohiuddin Sumon, Baten, Shamim Al Mamun, and Shafiuzzaman Mostafa.
