Tangail, May 14 (V7N) - BNP Vice Chairman Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan stated, "We want to return to democracy very soon. Only if we can return to democracy will it be possible to fulfill the aspirations of the people. The Bangladesh of the Liberation War will be a Bangladesh of democracy. It will not be a fascist Bangladesh. It will not be a Bangladesh of dictatorship. Therefore, we are trying to build a Bangladesh of democracy."
He made these remarks in response to journalists' questions before attending a meeting on infrastructure development and quality improvement of educational institutions at secondary, higher secondary, and undergraduate levels in Basail Upazila of Tangail on Wednesday afternoon.
The event, chaired by Abul Kashem Mia of the Upazila Secondary Teachers' Association, featured addresses by Mir Moniruzzaman of the Tangail district branch of the Secondary Teachers' Association, Abul Kashem, Joint Secretary of the District BNP, Matiur Rahman, Upazila Secondary Education Officer, Mamun Al Jahangir, Acting President of the Upazila BNP, General Secretary Nur Nabi Abu Hayat Khan Nabu, Upazila BNP Vice President Rasheda Sultana Ruby, Municipal BNP President Aktaruzzaman Tuhin, General Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Pintu, and others.
