Khagrachhari, Aug 13 (V7N) — The Parbatya Chattogram Nipanon Birodhi Chhatra Oikya (Anti-Repression Student Unity of the Chittagong Hill Tracts) organized a protest march and rally in Khagrachhari on Monday evening, demanding justice for the killing of Shubho Chakma in Baghaichhari, Rangamati.

The demonstration began at Chengi Square and proceeded through the main streets of Khagrachhari town before concluding at the Mukt Mancha (Freedom Stage), where a brief rally was held.

During the rally, Akash Tripura, a member of the organizing group, presided over the gathering. The event was moderated by fellow member Kripayon Tripura.

Among the speakers were Ukyanu Marma, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Marma Students’ Council (BMSC), Khagrachhari district unit, and general student representative Toshita Chakma. They strongly condemned the killing and called for swift action to identify and prosecute those responsible.

Protesters carried banners and chanted slogans, denouncing violence in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and urging the government to ensure justice and security for indigenous communities.

No official response from authorities was immediately available at the time of reporting. The protest remained peaceful.
