Bagerhat, Sept 14 (V7N) – In a personal initiative to alleviate the suffering of local residents, former General Secretary of Bagerhat District Jubo Dal, Md. Sujan Molla, has undertaken the repair of a severely damaged road. The repair work covers the stretch from Dashani LCD Mor to Noor Mosque Mor in Bagerhat town, with Molla himself supervising the entire process.

According to locals, the road had long been in a deplorable condition, particularly during the rainy season, when it became almost unusable. Residents, along with school, college, and madrasa students, who rely heavily on this road, had been enduring significant hardship for years.

Principal of Jadunath School and College, Jimi Mondal, noted that the road had not been repaired for many years and had become filled with potholes, making it nearly impossible for vehicles and pedestrians to pass. He added that the ongoing repair would bring much-needed relief to the community.

Local resident Golam Tajrez Shobuj emphasized that since this was the only connecting route between the upazila and the town, people faced daily distress. He expressed gratitude to Sujan Molla for taking the initiative.

Speaking about the project, Molla stated, “I am trying to stand by the people to the best of my ability. Until the road is fully reconstructed, I want to ensure that residents can move without difficulty. Several other roads in Bagerhat town have also become unfit for use due to lack of repair, and I plan to take similar initiatives there very soon.”
