Jhalokathi, Nov 01 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) held a community meeting in Kulakathi Union, Nalchiti Upazila, affirming that the party is committed to equality, justice, and protecting the rights of farmers, workers, and marginalized groups. BNP leaders emphasized that the party does not tolerate religious or ethnic discrimination, terrorism, or extortion, and that all communities are welcome to participate in nation-building.

The meeting, organized by the local BNP unit, was presided over by Zulfikar Ali Biswas, President of Baraibari Union BNP, and hosted by General Secretary Md. Khokon Majhi. The chief guest was Advocate Syed Hossain, Convener of Jhalokathi District BNP, while Shahadat Hossain, District BNP Member Secretary and candidate for Jhalokathi-2 constituency, addressed the gathering as the main speaker.

Other key speakers included Md. Selim Gazi, General Secretary of Nalchiti Upazila BNP; Kazi Jahangir Hossain, General Secretary of Nalchiti Municipal BNP; Md. Anisur Rahman Tapu, General Secretary of Jhalokathi Municipal BNP; and Md. Mizanur Rahman Mubin, Member of District BNP Conveners’ Committee. Leaders from various party wings, including the youth, volunteer, farmers, fisheries, and Tati (weavers) organizations, also delivered remarks.

During the event, over 100 men and women from the Sanatan Hindu community in Kulakathi Union, inspired by BNP’s 31-point manifesto, joined the party under the leadership of former Union Parishad member Nikhil Baraee. They presented flower bouquets and symbolic rice sheaves to Advocate Syed Hossain and Member Secretary Shahadat Hossain to signify their allegiance.

The chief guest highlighted that if BNP comes to power, the 31-point manifesto will be fully implemented, encouraging all citizens to unite under the party’s vision to contribute to national development.

The meeting demonstrated BNP’s commitment to inclusivity, social justice, and grassroots engagement, with a particular focus on ensuring the protection and empowerment of farmers, workers, and marginalized communities in line with the party’s reform agenda.
